Included are our puppy socialization classes which combine training, socialization and confidence building. They are designed to supplement your training program. Focus will be on introduction to novel items such as noisy kids' toys, strollers, balloons, bubbles etc. We will also focus on body awareness, etc. These structured, positive activities will help your pup grow into a well-mannered family companion. Early exposure to dogs, people, places, sounds and novel things are key for your pup's development.

ONLINE PUPPY TRAINING PROGRAM
About the Program
This program was created for the puppy owner that doesn't live in the area or needs the convenience of training on their own schedule and still getting access to a nationally certified trainer!
This course is invaluable for helping your pup grow up to be a well-mannered and happy pet. Socialization and teaching good manners at a young age is the key to having a polite, well-mannered adult dog. You will learn how dogs think and learn, how to motivate them and how to train without frustration making it fun for you and your puppy. This online course includes socialization, teaching your pup good manners, teaching your pup to love being handled all over and the start of basic obedience. The behaviors taught have written steps plus a video breaking down each step. Our puppy training online class includes how to prevent and resolve common puppy problems such as puppy nipping, jumping and house breaking. This online course provides the foundation for a harmonious relationship and happy, well-mannered dog!
Prerequisite
The online course is best started when your pup is between 8-16 weeks old; however, the online course can be started at any age.

Who this program is for:
Owners that live out of our area and want the most current science based positive reinforcement training information so their puppy grows up to be a well mannered adult dog.
Owners that need the convenience of training on their own schedule with our owner and lead trainer to help them train along the way!
BASIC OBEDIENCE TRAINING
Level 1 Puppy Life Skills (for puppies 8-16 weeks old or 17-25 weeks old)
Socialization is extremely important for puppies to have the best chance at becoming confident adult dogs. We limit their exposure by only allowing 4 puppies in each group class. Puppies can start puppy socialization classes as early as 7-8 weeks of age. Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccines at least 7 days prior to the first class and a first deworming. They should be kept up-to-date on vaccines throughout the class.
This course is invaluable for helping your pup grow up to be a well-mannered and happy pet. Prerequisite
Your pup is between 8-16 weeks old or 17-25 weeks old at the start of course. Note, exceptions are made for younger pups if cleared by your veterinarian. Proof of vaccinations appropriate for your dog’s age is required at or before the orientation. They need age appropriate Distemper/Parvo shots AND also the Bordetella vaccine to attend class.

INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE TRAINING
LEVEL 2 Well Mannered Pooch
We will be taking the skills we learned in Puppy Life Skills 1 OR Doggy Life Skills 1 to the next level. We continue to work on basic obedience adding distractions, distance and duration. Plus, we learn new behaviors!
Prerequisite:

Successful completion of a Level 1 class. Contact us if you have questions.

Proof of current Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella vaccinations are required BEFORE the first class.
We are offering group classes of ONLY 4 dogs in a class. This beginner's course is for dogs 26 weeks and older who have had minimal training. This course is perfect for dogs new to the home and/or for first time dog owners.
Basic obedience is necessary for good manners. Your dog will learn the basics including but not limited:

As the goal is a well-mannered pet, we also work on resolving common behavior problems such as resisting handling, mouthing/nipping and jumping up.

Prerequisite:
Your dog must already be able to work on leash safely around people and other dogs they have never met before. If your dog is reactive (barking and/or lunging) to other dogs or people and cannot meet this prerequisite, please contact us to set up private sessions.
Proof of Rabies (age appropriate), Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella vaccinations are required AT or BEFORE the first session.
ADVANCED OBEDIENCE TRAINING
Level 3 What a Great Dog!
We will be taking the skills we learned in Level 2 Well-Mannered Pooch and stepping up distractions, distance and duration. We continue to work on down/stays as well as an out & about adventure where we put all that you've learned out in the real world! This gives you and your dog that freedom of visiting all the dog friendly places you can!

Therapy Dog Preparation
Who this program is for:
Pups that have basic obedience skills and walk on a leash in a heel position even with distractions!
Owners that want to become a therapy team!
What's included:

5 - One hour classes

The last class will be an "Out & About" session

Includes a 4 foot travel leash needed for therapy test and visits
About the Class:
This class will prepare you for the therapy dog test to become a certified therapy dog team. We have chosen Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) because we believe this is the best therapy dog certification offered.
Alliance of Therapy Dogs is an international registry of certified therapy dog teams. ATD provides testing, certification, registration, support, and insurance for members who volunteer with their dogs in animal-assisted activities. ATD’s objective is to form a network of caring individuals and their special dogs, willing to share smiles and joy with people, young and old alike.
ATD is focused on the well-being and the behavior of your dog regardless of age or breed. They look for well-mannered, well-behaved dogs that enjoy meeting people. While obedience training can be useful in a therapy setting, ATD doesn’t require formal training, certifications, or tests other than their own. All dogs tested for ATD’s certification must be up-to-date on vaccines and have a negative fecal exam in the last year. ATD is open to register any breed of dog except wolf or coyote mixes.
Prerequisite:

Must have basic obedience skills and walk on a loose leash in a heel position.

Must enjoy being greeted and be comfortable being petted by strangers

Must be able to work on 4 foot leash safely around people and other dogs (we provide the 4 foot leash)

Proof of current Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella vaccinations are required BEFORE the first class.

Socialization Quality vs Quantity
Choosing the right type and amount of socialization for your new puppy is key to a well socialized dog. Socialization is introducing your pup to other dogs, people and the world around them. This course will address all of these and help you in designing a socialization program to build confidence and trust leading to a life of freedom for you and your pup!
What your Groomer Wished you Knew
Going to the groomers may be fun for YOU but, it might be scary for your dog if you haven't properly exposed them to what happens there! This course is meant to do just that. We will teach you the skills your groomer will thank you for!
Pawsitve Pedis
Nail trimming for many dogs, is full of anxiety! Getting started the right way can turn nail trims into a walk in the park!
Clippers and Dremel tools specifically designed for dogs, and scratch pads are a few of the things your dog should be familiar with. You can use whatever type you or your dog are most comfortable with. We will be training with all the different nail trimming tools to find the perfect fit for your spa days!
